a few words about vanessa
Vanessa is the co-founder of Spark AI Advisory, a consulting firm that helps organizations translate their existing compliance frameworks to EU AI Act requirements through proprietary methodologies and direct regulatory access.
Vanessa began her career in institutional finance, spending over a decade as a biotech equity broker for a top North American bank, where she navigated complex regulatory frameworks including FINRA, IIROC, and MiFID II compliance. She later moved into biotech consulting with firms like STEM/Inizio Advisory, helping life science companies align strategy and execution while managing GRC requirements across highly regulated markets.
In 2022, Vanessa co-founded her first company with her son, Sébastien, focusing on AI-powered client acquisition systems. This venture into AI technology revealed a critical market gap: organizations needed help translating their existing compliance frameworks to AI-specific regulations. Today, Vanessa uniquely combines her 15+ years of GRC expertise in financial services with deep AI knowledge, specializing in EU AI Act implementation, bridging traditional compliance to AI governance, and delivering regulatory training that speaks both technical and business languages.
As co-leader of Spark AI Advisory, Vanessa now guides clients through AI regulatory alignment and AI literacy programs, implementing the EU AI Act, GDPR integration, ISO/IEC 42001 governance systems, and AI cybersecurity frameworks. She is a Certified EU AI Act Professional with specialized training in AI cybersecurity through the FAICP (Framework for AI Cybersecurity Practices) and holds an AI for Business Specialization from Wharton, University of Pennsylvania.
Vanessa holds a Master's in Italian and Russian Linguistics (University of Geneva) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Organisational Psychology (University of Liverpool). She is an ICF-certified Executive Mentor-Coach with additional training in Emotional Intelligence and Customer Neuroscience. With 20+ years in regulated industries, she brings both strategic precision and human-centered insight to the complex challenge of AI governance.

a few words about Sebastien
Sébastien is the co-founder of Spark AI Advisory, where he co-leads client programs focused on AI governance, regulatory compliance, and AI literacy implementation. Drawing on his deep expertise in AI for Business applications, Sébastien brings a unique ability to bridge strategic vision with AI regulation implementation, and AI literacy training.
In his previous company as the architect behind all AI-driven workflows, Sébastien designed, built, and optimized automation systems that powered operations and client delivery across multiple sectors. His work laid the foundation for what would later evolve into Spark AI Advisory’s regulatory-first approach to scalable, compliant AI.
Sébastien holds a Professional Certification in AI for Business, (Wharton-University of Pennsylvania) equipping him with the knowledge to guide organizations in aligning AI adoption with ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and responsible governance practices.
Alongside his technical expertise, Sébastien is also a multidisciplinary artist with a passion for visual storytelling, music composition, and creative expression. His dual background in art and AI informs a human-centered approach to system design—balancing precision with imagination, and compliance with creativity.
